Bilbao & Cultural and Leisure Activities
|
|
Bilbao is one of the largest, most vibrant cities in Spain. It is surrounded by mountains and beautiful beaches. Its climate, with an average year-round temperature of 20ºC, is ideal.
The quality of life here is one of Bilbao's best hallmarks. Bilbao is also famous for its University student life, the "tapas" bars, its cultural attractions, its gardens, its great shopping and for its beautiful buildings. Here, you will find a vibrant street-life, which is why it is sometimes referred to as "The capital of joy and satisfaction".
Bilbao, known as one of the main financial, communications, and cultural capitals of Spain, offers students a dazzling array of cultural events and institutions, educational resources, entertainment, sport events as well as restaurants, markets, shops and services of every imaginable kind.
There are many reasons these days to choose a language course in Bilbao because there is more to find here than impressive architecture, living history, friendly people and lots of sun.
Being located on the coast, it enables you to practice wide range of water sports, as well as tennis, swimming, horse back-riding and walking, all of which are compatible with our courses. You can also spend your spare time visiting the excellent bars and restaurants, specialised in regional cooking, as well as enjoying our traditional dances or visiting the beautiful natural surroundings.
Our experience has taught us that excursions and cultural visits are a very important part of the learning and better comprehension of our rich and varied culture as much as our most rooted traditions.
Cultural activities and excursions are accompanied by teachers/ staff members with a wide knowledge of the subject, as well as the place being visited.
The students receive the program of cultural activities and an informative folder on the first day of class, indicating the dates of excursions and whether they are free of charge or not.
The program of the activities includes:
- Orientation meeting so that the student can better grasp where the school is located.
- Guided tours through the historical center of the city.
- Attending cultural events: theater, concerts, cinema, week-long festivals, carnival, latino and Salsa music, etc)
- Watching movies in Spanish.
- Visiting monuments (Guggenheim museum, Casco Viejo District, churches, ..)
- Participating in celebrations and other activities in order to know the Spanish traditions and way of life such as "tapas" taste, gatherings, excursions, going to the pool and/or the beach, dinner in restaurants, visiting nearby towns and so on in order to know the Spanish traditions and way of life better.
These events are an opportunity to put theory into practice and create an enjoyable and cheerful atmosphere.
Students may take other courses in addition to their Spanish studies, such as: Balloon tours, Water sports, Horse riding, Golf, Sailing, Parachuting, Trekking, Scuba Diving, Skiing, Wine-tasting, Quad Riding ...
Please note that while these courses may be booked through the school, they are arranged by other companies/organizations.
